The Honor of the Blushing Writer

By Ambianced1 | 2008

I find myself in need to relay the awesome honors that have been bestowed on me since becoming a member of this site.

I have been fortunate and remain grateful to be able to read the lives and words of others and in some small way add value to those gifts by appreciating them with my thoughts. It never had occurred to me until sometime in June that my words of encouragement mattered until a particular writer told me that my words were printed and placed on his office wall to remind him of why he writes. Another person wrote me that my comments (for lack of a better word,) gave him courage to continue on... literally. In that moment, I gained the highest esteem for the common word.
Words as we know them have a power, when strung together properly ,to build a life or a dream or to destroy it. It is my honor and pleasure to be a trustee of offering affirmation, commendation, and gratification of each work I am entrusted to read and each work that has been captured by film or brush. In doing so, I feel that my life is more enriched by extending to the gifted a recognition that I sincerely stand by.
Today, I was honored by a new member by his placing my comment of his work on his Soapbox and found myself humbled yet again by the usage of words and the affect they have on the spirit of the gifted. So to the gifted, I dedicate the following message I gave to a talented writer that I now share with you as inspiration to continue to use the gift of word and help sustain the courage to use them. My best to each of you who happen upon my words and I hope that they will serve to inspire you to utter at least one more line...

Validation

Its a strange life we creatures of word share. We express them out of sheer necessity, but in that selfish necessity we find that inspiring and changing others with our exposing words, make us vulnerable for their acceptance and our un-guaranteed need of their identifying with what we offer of ourselves. So I am pleased that I could instill in you the validation of your words. Your words need a home other than your mind and your expressing them as you uniquely do gives birth to an invitation to all that read your work to come in and rattle around in your life and tell me if you "get it". It's a brave thing we do. More so than other arts, such as painting, photography, singing words of others...we Wordmen have to look deep for the courage to open ourselves, our thoughts, our experiences, our lives to the world and stand vulnerable, pensive, yet relieved that we have had the courage to go deeper than canvas and reveal what only we have to share.

My hope for you is that you continue in your efforts to peel back layer after layer and share your uncommon gift...because in the end, words never die.

You are the environment you create and in doing so, you too are an Ambianced1.

Humbly yours
ora
