Who are we?

The Louisiana Hurricanes is a Minor League Football Organization managed by a team of voluntary individuals. The Louisiana Hurricanes were formerly known as the Lafayette Hurricanes.

The Louisiana Hurricanes are in the process of preparing for the 2009 spring season. The Hurricanes are two time conference champions! The Hurricanes finished the 2007 season with a 12-3 record. According to the Minor League Football Asscociation, the Hurricanes are currently ranked 25th out of 648 teams nationally.

The Louisiana Hurricanes will play a minimum of 6 home games and 6 away games each season. The Hurricanes will travel to play opposing teams in Texas and Louisiana. Home games are played at St. Thomas More's astro-turf field. Attendance of 250-1000+ fans, are expected for each home game in the 2009 season.

Our Mission

Our mission is to serve the community by nurturing youth athletic programs through a varitey of sports clinics and recreational events and to provide our athletes an opportunity to advance to the next level (NFL, CFL, AFL1, and AFL2).

Our Goal

The goal of the Louisiana Hurricanes is to establish and maintain a strong community -based Minor League Football Program that the entire family can enjoy. Our ultimate goal is to help players who have graduated high school and were not able to attend college, or players that attended college but did not get recruited to high levels. Our organization is their second chance to fulfill their dreams and advance their football careers into higher levels.

Must be 18 by the time our season starts in March
