"...and then there are people who do digital photography..."
there is an old computer axiom my dad told me when i was a kid, working on a school project. “garbage In, garbage Out” this axiom still rings true today with digital photography, as i have seen over the past year. don't get me wrong, adobe photoshop is a great tool for photographers. thats just it though, it was meant for photographers. i know any old 'joe schmoe' out of a high school photography class can call themselves a photographer, but it takes a certain eye to actually capture an image of photographic quality. with adobe photoshop, you can manipulate an image with more than enough tools to make the image really stand out as a great piece of work. here rests my problem with the subject at hand; you need a GOOD image in the first place to produce a work that is pleasing to the eye. silly special effects done to a crummy image puts out a result WAY WORSE than the image that was started with, and that pains me to look at. these kids think that just because they put a few neon pink and green circles on a picture of themselves making some ridiculous face, it makes them a professional photographer. anyone can call themselves a professional photographer, but, as i said before, you have to have the artistic eye to make a technically good photographic work. but hey, at least they aren't on the streets whoring themselves out for drugs, right? i suppose being crappy at a "hobby" is better than that.

I agree completely with you about the use of digital, I loooove my Nikon film camera and I love using it. There is just something about seeing a scene and grabbing your camera and knowing you have captured it--without seeing it. Then it's like Christmas when you develop it and it's more than you could have ever asked for!!
Keep on Keeping on man, I love the portfolio!!
