My name is Sabrina I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a BFA in Art education. My education gave me the opportunity to display in many UWM art gallery shows, which included UWM 31st Annual Juried Show, An Orgasm of Expression, and Marriage, Home and Family. I was fortunate to utilize UWM's art program, which let me expand to show my work at different venues including Summer 2004 Gallery Night and Day at Turner Hall Ballroom and Summer 2004 Lakefront Festival of Arts, 14th Annual Collegiate competition.
My current paintings capture the brightly colored sky of the sunset. They exude an overall calmness and explore the dramatic skyline. My goal is to create a visual interest through the dark silhouette of trees along the horizon contrasted by a brightly colored sky. Overall the paintings reveal the beauty of nature at sunset produced from reflecting long rays of sunlight.
The oil paintings are taken from captured images of rural sunsets. I work in this manner to capture the moment of time before the final hours of the day. I translate the photo to canvas using the fluidity of oil paint. My technique of adding and subtracting to reveal the layers of colors creates a sense of depth. I strive to engage the viewer and give a sense of serenity.
