She has lived and worked in Rome for the past 20 years where she studied stage and set designing at the Accademia di Belle Arti recieving her degree in 1992. She has held solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad and has partecipated in numerous group exhibitions.
Although she studied stage and set design, she always felt the need to freely express her inner most feelings and so she began to put those emotions onto canvas.
Heidi Hirvonen is an artist of the feminine psiche. Her artistic career begins with abstracts and carries on with the slender woman figures, fhe fairies of her inner soul, as she calls them..
In her latest production reappears the princesses and the elves of the forests of the north and are non other than the children of the fairies.
The colours that in her earlier production were dark, typically nordic, has changed in whites that “covers” the story/ fairytail inside her art works.. The story exists, but this time one just needs to discover it by himself.
The technique that is used is mostly oil on canvas or wood.
