Being raised by a geologist and a certified master gardener, my love for the wilderness that is ever surrounding was heavily instilled in me.
I enjoy raising butterflies by supplying a natural habitat for many species and aid in sustaining them over winter. Observing these wonders of natural beauty and my active role in preserving and maintaining a habitat for them has taught me a beautiful lesson in transformation. To honor them I started putting their wings in my jewelry. Never was a butterfly killed for the sake of making something. All wings I use have expired naturally, either from my garden, hikes in the woods, and others come from farms.
I have been a rock hound since a small child, always being fascinated with the rocks my father had. Then being taught how to find them for myself. I've taken this interest with me and on each of my travels I have collected many gemstones which I have incorperated into jewelry. What better way to show the beauty of nature then to show it to people in a manner different than they are accustomed to seeing it.
I have currently settled my roots living on 700 acres of a nature preserve with wetland habitat restoration in beautiful Michigan, the perfect setting to foster my passion of making natural jewelry.
Im an artist who loves to work with many mediums including photography, gemstones, glass, wood, silver and other metals.
I use only real gemstones, i stay away from dyed of chemically treated stones unless asked to use such in a custom order.
